Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut

The guide will pick you up and take you to your hotel, where you can unwind and soak in the authentic African atmosphere. Before your trek begins, you'll meet with your guide for a briefing, receive helpful advice, and get important tips for the climb.The adventure begins at Momella Gate, where you start the hike through lush forests and scenic landscapes, with the possibility of spotting local wildlife along the way. The trail gradually ascends as you make your way to Miriakamba Hut, situated at an altitude of about 2,514 meters. After approximately 4-5 hours of hiking, you'll arrive at the hut, where you'll spend the night, surrounded by nature and the tranquil beauty of the mountain.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to the Summit and Back to Saddle Hut

Day 3 begins early, with a pre-dawn start for the final push to Mount Meru's summit. The ascent is challenging, but the reward is well worth the effort. After several hours of climbing, you'll reach the Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Meru, at 4,566 meters. Here, you'll witness a stunning sunrise over the surrounding landscape, with views of the crater and distant Mount Kilimanjaro on a clear day. After taking in the incredible vistas and celebrating your achievement, you'll begin the descent back to Saddle Hut, where you'll spend the night, resting and recovering from the long but rewarding summit day.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

On Day 2, the trek continues as you ascend through the lush, tropical forest, gradually moving into more open terrain. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Saddle Hut, located at 3,570 meters. After about 4-5 hours of hiking, you'll reach the hut, which sits in a saddle between the peaks of Mount Meru. From here, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including the volcanic craters and distant views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. This is the perfect spot to rest and acclimatize before the summit push the following day.

Día 4: Saddle Hut a Momela Gate, luego regreso a Arusha

En el último día, comenzarás el descenso desde Saddle Hut, atravesando nuevamente los hermosos bosques hasta llegar a Momela Gate. Este tramo del trekking es mucho más fácil y se tarda unas 3-4 horas en llegar al gate, donde finaliza oficialmente la aventura. Después de completar el trekking, serás trasladado de regreso a Arusha, donde podrás relajarte y descansar tras el esfuerzo de los días anteriores.
